JKAD is a system for designing and fabricating custom implant abutments, utilizing CAD/CAM technology that honors the biological science and math principals put forth by Dr. John Kois. On anterior teeth, the ideology is used to create a custom abutment form that mimics the cemento-enamel junction to create papilla support and facial root eminence whenever possible. This approach lends itself well to bone loss patients and can be used to retain or reclaim the facial tissue outline for the ideal contour of the restoration site. JKAD abutments may also complement the esthetic results of maxillary posteriors by placing the abutment's facial margin in the most ideal position. This allows the technician to fill out the buccal corridor while maintaining a more congruent gingival architecture. This didactic philosophy easily applies itself to needed logic on all implant sites that offer varying bone and tissue bio types and it always dictates that the custom abutment will create the most ideal emergence profile possible.
